These are some of the glowing responses from those who have had the pleasure of hearing the warm and rich voice of Janice Trickett. A native of Cheshire, Janice has been singing professionally and for charities for many years drawing her life’s experience into a rich emotional geography presented in her vocal repertoire. From an early age she was immersed in the rich musical tradition of the North West of England where her early technique and style was nurtured within the Music Festival circuit so popular in that area. Janice continued her vocal studies at Oxford, under the influence of teachers from varied styles, including German and Austrian traditions. Gaining a double first in Music, majoring in vocal performance and mathematics, her performances received notable acclaim. She performed with the Christ Church Cathedral Choir and made her debut as a soloist at the Holywell Music Room in Oxford. After graduating she continued her vocal studies in London where she performed regularly as a soloist and as a member of popular vocal ensembles. Multi-talented Janice became one of the leading statisticians in the UK, becoming the Young Statistician of the Year in 1994. Her groundbreaking PhD research has contributed to the global development in medical research within the field of clinical trials.

The successful pursuit of a PhD in mathematical statistics at Southampton University opened up many performance opportunities on the south coast. This included leading operatic roles with the regional Opera Company Hillside Opera and Leider concerts in her own right. Throughout her career Janice has received numerous festival prizes and awards for singing being commend for her “rich mezzo-soprano voice” and “intelligent artistic singing”. Janice's continuing vocal development has been honed by tuition from some of the leading vocal coaches both nationally and internationally of the past 30 years. And now relocated to Sidmouth, Devon and following a substantial sabbatical due to ill health, Janice has decided to dedicate her art for the benefit of others, in particular local charities, to help in their fundraising endeavours or programme of events and for Churches seeking enrichment within their worship services.
